Pet of the Month

September’s “Pet of the Month” is Lara Mcshane, a 10 year old Labrador. Since on the 1st of May 2008, Lara weighed 37.9 Kg (6 stone). The vet advised Mr Mcshane that Lara needed to lose weight. One of our nurses advised him on ways that could help Lara lose weight during a one to one nurse’s clinic and, 3 months later, she weighed 31.9Kg (5 stone).

This loss is remarkable as Lara was also put on steroid medication that can make animals gain weight. Lara also underwent a cruciate repair operation last month, from which she has made an excellent recovery and, despite having an operation here, she is still happy to come into the practice and play with the nurses, and her lovely pink squeaky bone.
