Jenny qualified from Edinburgh in 2005 and joined the practice in January 2006. She has a particular interest in internal medicine and hopes to study towards a certificate in the near future. In her spare time, she enjoys hill walking and spending her time in the countryside.
Uppingham Road - Team
John fulfilled his childhood ambition by qualifying as a vet from Liverpool in 1980 and he gained his certificate in radiology in 1989. He joined Mike Hayes in Leicester in 1987 and became a partner in 1991. He is keen on all aspects of small animal work, but special interests are radiography, ultrasound and surgery.
Outside work he has four children and attends a local church. Recreational pastimes include road cycling, camping, canoeing and kayaking.
Charlotte graduated from Cambridge vet school in 2006. Her first job was in a busy small animal hospital and referral centre in Cheshire, where she stayed for a year. In July 2007 she married equine surgeon Greg Quinn and after a honeymoon walking the Inca Trail she joined us at Borrajo's.
Charlotte's veterinary interests include internal medicine and she holds an MA in Pathology as well as her veterinary degree. She is involved in some in-house nurse training and is working at starting puppy parties.
Outside of work Charlotte likes to keep active. She recently joined Charnwood Triathlon Club and complete her first competitive triathlon. She is involved in setting up a junior section and hopes to find time to run a marathon before the end of the year. Charlotte enjoys mountain biking, hiking and travelling when ever she has the time!
Johnny graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 2005. After spending one year in the Greek Military Forces he joined the Borrajo's team in April 2007. Johnny's main areas of interest are small animal soft tissue and orthapaedic surgery and neurology. He is currently studying towards a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animals).
He has a passion for travelling and different cultures, his dream is to travel all over the world. He also enjoys learning foreign languages, Salsa and looking after his very demanding cat Phoebe!
Hi my name is Tammy Greaves and I am the head nurse here at Uppingham Road. I have been employed here at Borrajo's for 7 years and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in August 2007.
I enjoy all aspects of Veterinary Nursing but I am especially interested in animal medicine. I have two cats and a dog of my own.
I qualified with a degree in veterinary nursing in June 2007. I trained at our Birstall clinic and began working at our Uppingham Road clinic in October 2007. I have always had an interest in animals and I have a Terrier of my own.
I work at Borrajo's Veterinary Clinics as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant. I've worked here since October 2007.
I started working here in February 2008 after doing an animal management course at Brooksby College. I've always had an interest in animals and I have two dogs of my own.
I have worked at Borrajo's Vets for ten years as a receptionist. At home I have two dogs.
Sarah qualified as a human nurse in 1984; she worked within the University Hospitals of Leicester for a number of years.
In 2005 Sarah became a partner in Borrajo's Veterinary Clinics and is part of the management / administration team.
Sarah is married to John (senior vet and partner) and they have four children, three cats, two guinea pigs and two tortoises. Her interests include gardening, walking and involvement with a local church.
Hello, my name is Richard Wallis and I am the Practice Manager responsible for the day to day running of the three surgeries. I am married with a grown up son and joined the practice three years ago after a career in business.
I am always available to our clients both existing and new to answer any queries or questions that may arise concerning the welfare of your pet.
I have worked for Borrajo's Vets for 12 years. I originally trained as a veterinary nurse, but since having my family, I now work as a part-time administrator.
I have two cats and a dog. My other interests include outdoor activities such as tennis, camping, walking and canoeing.
